NAME ( Dip or Tet )

As registered by Hybridiser

  • Dip = Diploid (refers to the sets of chromosomes) 
  • Tet = Tetraploid  (refers to the sets of chromosomes , Tetraploids having twice as many as Diploids) .  These terms are used mainly by breeders/hybridisers

Daylily Information

Colour and form are as registered by the hybridiser but mention may be made of any variances experienced in growth  and colour due to location

Size: e.g. (28” x 5”)

Refers to the height of scape (stem) x diameter of flower

Additional information

Refers to the flowering season (E), growth/foliage habit (DOR) followed by plant characteristics as set out below

The season, on average, ranges from early June until September

Growth/Foliage habit  linked 'by Foliage'

  • DOR = Dormant in winter  (top growth stops and all leaves die as winter approaches)
  • SEV = Semi evergreen (foliage reduces in winter)
  • EV = Evergreen (leaves stay green through the year although they can reduce during severe winter weather)

Plant characteristics

  • FRA/VFRA = fragrant / very fragrant
  • NOC = nocturnal (opens late afternoon of the previous day)
  • EXT = extended (flower opens early morning)
  • RE = rebloom (has the potential to rebloom
